Vevra Launches a State-of-the-Art Hospital Pods to Fight COVID-19

A Bangalore based “Design and Build” company Vevra has allied with a Portugal based Healthcare IoT company “InnoWave Group” to introduce the ‘Vevra Pods’. Theses pods were launched today, to jointly fight the pandemic and other contagious and airborne diseases.


The Vevra Pods project was primarily born as an answer for major medical crises of any form, where the lack of appropriate facilities/infrastructure to receive highly infected patients takes a toll in most hospitals across the nation. This project consists of a set of movable capsules that aims to efficiently assist in the infrastructure of local/private/government hospitals across India.

 These fully furnished modular Pods come with advanced IoT solutions at the heart of its operation on ViGIE+ platform by InnoWave. This infrastructure consists of antechamber airlock rooms to provide a safe area for healthcare professionals with antibacterial walls and surface, it also controls the quantity and quality of the air being circulated in and out of the room with a minimum of 12 air changes per hour through HEPA filters, UVC lights, high-end exhaust system with PLC integrated air conditioning system to help in maintaining the temperature, humidity within. The Vevra pods come in five variants; General pod, ICU pod, Doctors stay pod, Operation theatre pod, and Scanning room pod. Each pod can accommodate 4-9 beds.

 

Features of Vevra Pods

  • These pods come with an antechamber airlock room to provide a safe area for healthcare professionals to do Donning and Doffing and to store the medical supplies. 

  • Introducing a negative air pressure in the pod to contain airborne diseases such as TB, Flu, and COVID-19. It also controls the quantity and quality of the air being circulated in and out of the room with a minimum of 12 air changes per hour through HEPA filters, UVC lights, and a high-end exhaust system. 

  • The pod comes with PLC integrated air conditioning system to help in maintaining the temperature, humidity within.

Withdraw the decision to handover Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to Adani group

 Thiruvananthapuram; August 20, 2020: An all-party meeting which was presided over by Chief Minister Kerala, held in Thiruvananthapuram under has demanded the central government to withdraw its decision to handover Thiruvananthapuram international airport to Adani group. All attendees except BJP representatives sharply criticized the privatization of airport. The meeting decided to continue to fight legal battle jointly in this issue. 

 

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the state demanded the supervision and management of the airport should be vested in a state controlled Special Purpose Vehicle. Letters were sent to Civil Aviation Minister and Prime Minister many times. In another letter addressed to the Secretary of Civil Aviation, Chief Secretary clarified that Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation represented the state government had participated the bidding process and informed that if Adani Group quotes higher amount KSIDC is ready to pay the same amount. In 2003 Ministry of Civil Aviation assured that the right to supervision and management will be vested in SPV controlled by state government considering the state’s contribution to the development of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.. State government is much experienced in the management of Kochin Airport in Nedumbasseri. The company which attained the bid has no such experience.

State government had contributed 23.57 acres of land to Airport Authority of India for the development in 2005. Apart from this government has started some steps to attain 18 more acres of land as per the condition that value of the land could be converted as the state’s share in the proposed SPV, Chief Minister said.  He sought whole hearten support of all political parties in the legal fight against the privatisation.  No agency can manage an airport without the cooperation of state government. Those who know how to run and industry would not confront with the government.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala offered full support to the state government in this issue.

In the meanwhile Chief Minister   to PM Narendra Modi seeking  a review on the handover of Thiruvananthapuram airport made to the Adani Group. The letter points out how the centre’s decision on the airport in question, is unilateral and calls for a reconsideration on the matter.

The letter cites Centre’s rejection of several requests made by Kerala and  underscores  how the current airport handover was being made even as a petition against it, as directed by the Supreme Court, remains to be heard by the High Court.

CM also hinted that, it would be difficult to collaborate with a move that discounts state government’s point of view. With all assurances given by the Aviation Ministry to the State having been breached, it would not be possible for this government to cooperate with handover proceedings, the letter said.

 The state government   arrayed  facts showing how airports at Nedumbassery and Kannur have an excellent operational track - an argument the Centre chose to ignore. It also  went on to dismiss state plea asking to be allowed to run Thiruvananthapuram airport and instead, transferred the airport’s management to private hands by handing over its operations, development and renovation to them for the next 50 years.

Rebuffing the myth over parents' displeasure towards the schools on payment of fees, Ahmedabad based 

Association of Progressive Schools (AoPS) stormed the Twitter with their #SaveOurSchools campaign. The digital campaign was designed to oppose Gujarat government's order to collect no fees from the parents till the schools open regularly. On Sunday, July 26, the campaign received tremendous support from Twitterati as the online campaign witnessed more than one lakh tweets, became No. 4 trending nationally, No. 5 in Mumbai/Bengaluru and No. 1 in Gujarat Twitter. The aim of the campaign was to create a massive voice for the concern towards school education and influence the state government to take a favorable decision that is suitable to all the sections of the education fraternity.

 

Speaking on this initiative, Mr. Manan Choksi, Past President and Member of AoPS, said, "We had received tremendous support from parents and other sections of the society backing the various initiatives taken by the self-financed schools for the betterment of students' education during COVID-19 pandemic. A large number of parents had shown their disagreement towards the government's GR on not to levy fees till normal classes resume. Buoyed by their support, we had launched a digital campaign #SaveOurSchools to further echo our voice and get further support nationally. This coming together for the sake of the education fraternity in Gujarat was an important step to stop what was shortsighted and will have deep consequences for everyone."

 

"In 2017, a Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) was set up by Gujarat government to regulate fee structure of schools in Gujarat. Despite submitting the genuine expenses approved by the auditors, the FRC drastically reduced the fees charged by private schools. Just like every other sector, the private schools also faced a big hit due to COVID-19 pandemic and it's after effects. Last week the state government had restricted all the schools not to collect fees from the parents till the schools resume normally. In such a situation, how the schools will pay the salaries of teaching staff? Such a decision is completely hogwash and our digital campaign proved that by getting support from the education fraternity," added Mr. Choksi.

 

The association had invited all the educators, teachers, parents, and students to come forward and join in the Tweet Storm. AoPS also arranged a short training session on Saturday, 25th July to understand how it works and what the participants can write about the campaign. This was especially planned for the people who had not optimized the use of Twitter previously as the session could help them to understand the focus, the strategy, and the use of their Twitter account.
